I have now changed the nameservers and once they have an opportunity to propagate (I’m told about a day) I can light up the site on the new server. I suspect this link may go down in the meantime so hang in there with me. I “should” be up as www.macsparky.com again tomorrow if I go dark. Thank you to all of the readers who commented and emailed me with excellent tips and advise.macsparky.wordpress.com will remain active for awhile but will not be updated.
I am in the midst of moving the Blog off the wordpress.com site onto some server space I purchased from Dreamhost. I have a few observations here:
1. The site may act a bit funny while I make the transition but hopefully not.
2. It should be illegal for someone with a political science degree to do this. My brain hurts and none of the “simple” steps are simple. If any readers feel pity, email me and I’ll share the gory details and beg for help.

I’m taking a small family vacation for a few days and throwing the kids in the car and driving off to Las Vegas. This is all kind of funny since I’m not much of a gambler but we are saving for the big vacation next year (Maui) and this seemed like something fun and not too rough on the wallet. So I probably will not be posting much the next few days, but then again .. it is REALLY hot in vegas and the Mac will be in the hotel room. Hmmmm…
